Seize the data is a game that was designed for MediaSmarts, a Canadian educational website to help kids learn digital and media literacy. The game's theme is focused on privacy use within games.
I was the UI designer where I created all the characters, visuals , buttons and screens . I created these assets using Adobe Illustrator CC in a 6 week period.
THE THOUGHT PROCESS
When my team was assigned this theme, we needed to consider what could be engaging for kids around a grade 3 reading level to be able to learn how much information can they share with others. As a result, we came up with a match 3 or Candy crush type of game. I sketched a paper prototype for our professor to be able to test our idea.
Once our professor tested our paper prototype and provided us her feedback, my team and I had to consider many things. We needed to make this game easily comprehensible for our players by explaining the concepts through the layout of the game. So I made another iteration paper prototype before I started creating the final designs on illustrator.
